What is Launch Canadian?
A step-by-step plan for starting a business in Ontario, plus a free directory of suppliers ranked by how Canadian they are. You can buy from anyone; we make it easy to find Canadian options.
What do I get with the founder plan?
Your launch checklist for your business type, city and structure, with official links and costs; the full supply list with Canadian picks; funding you may qualify for; a startup budget saved to your account; and a printable PDF of your whole plan. It's a one-time payment.
Do you only list Canadian-owned companies?
No. We list well-known suppliers that aren't Canadian-owned too, so you can compare every option. The score is information, not a rule; you decide.
How is the Canadian Score worked out?
Out of 100: ownership and control (40), head office and leadership (15), data residency (15), jobs and support (15), tax and reinvestment (10), and product origin (5). Each profile shows its evidence and the date it was last checked.
Can a supplier pay for a better score?
No. Sponsored spots are clearly labelled and never change a score or the ranking.
What if a listing is wrong or out of date?
Use "Report an ownership change" on any supplier's profile. We check the evidence and update the listing with a new review date. Companies can also claim their own listing.
Is this legal or tax advice?
No. It's general guidance with links to the official Ontario, CRA and city sources. For decisions like incorporating or HST, talk to an accountant or lawyer.
I'm not in Ontario. Can I use it?
The supplier directory is useful anywhere in Canada, but the launch plan covers Ontario rules only for now. Join the waitlist for your province and we'll email you when it's ready.
Where is my information stored?
On servers in Canada. Card payments are handled by Helcim, a Canadian payment processor; we never see your card number.
